Una is a common buzzard. She has lived in a garage in Cheshire for seventeen years. A lack of care and regular exercise had left her so overweight that she could no longer fly. Mike heard of her situation and travelled over to rescue the bird.
He placed her on a strict diet, within three months she was able to stand, and a further six months after that she was happily flying again. Her new found enthusiasm was clear as she escaped from the sanctuary to be seen soaring over the North Down woods, earning her the name of "The Helens Bay Buzzard".
Unfortunately the years of neglect had left her unable to feed for herself in the wild and is now cared for in the World of Owls.
